Leesa is currently director of business and financial planning for an IT infrastructure provider to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to this, she spent 25 years serving in various financial capacities in management consulting, manufacturing and service industries. Her recent volunteer activities include Chairperson for Marco Lutheran's Board of Outreach; Treasurer for Marco Island Newcomers Club, and team leader for Lighthouse Harbor volunteer groups.
Pastor Garazin was born in Chicago, IL. He attended Concordia Junior College in Milwaukee, WI and received his B.A. from Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was a Vicar (intern) at First Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE and received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1972.
Pastor Garazin served parishes in Roselle, Wheaton and Lombard, IL. He also had a business career as owner of four retail stores in major malls in the Chicago suburbs.
He has trained as a family mediator and has completed over 100 hours of continuing education in grief care.
He has four grown children and seven beautiful grandchildren. He enjoys the beautiful beach on Marco, boating, fishing and reading.
Graduated NYU as a math major and immediately began working as a Systems Engineer for IBM. After several years, she continued to program computers at home while raising a family. In 1976, she started working in the pension industry. She was a consultant who designed and administered pension plans for small corporations.
In time a computer company in Miami designed a program to do what we had done by hand and since I was knowledgeable with computers, I was the liaison between the pension accompany and the computer firm. Eventually the pensions were computerized and she oversaw the maintenance of the program, the design and administration.
Lisa moved to Boston where she became President of Pension Service Consultants, a small consulting firm. She was also Operations Manager of the financial planning and insurance arms of the business. She and her husband retired in 1991 and lived aboard a boat for three years until finding Marco Island. For several years after she beta tested a program designed by the same Miami company she originally worked with years before. After several years, the consulting job had ended and Lisa began travelling which is now her passion. She has been to all seven continents and continues to travel.
Dennis Hess retired from Smith Barney Morgan Stanley as a 1st Vice President/ Branch Manager after 29 years of service. His career specialized in financial planning and investment manage-ment for a university, college, symphony, cemetery trust, labor unions, hospitals, various civic organizations and wealthy families.
He has been involved in civic activities, serving as Chairman or Vice Chairman of a Chamber of Commerce,Convention and Visitors Bureau, Economic Development Agency, Marco Lutheran Church Foundation, Workforce Development Board, Kiwanis, Sportsmen's Clubs and his Illinois Church.
He currently serves on six foundation boards or institutional investment committees.
Gail received a B.A. in Education from the University of Michigan.
She retired from the University of Michigan Dental School where she served as coordinator of a Robert Wood Johnson grant program providing resources for mentally and physically challenged individuals to receive dental care. She served as a fund raiser for funds for treatment and worked with dental students helping them to be comfortable treating this patient population. She served years as a hospital volunteer in the Cancer Center and Pediatric Center at the University of Michigan Hospital. She is a Stephen Minister and serves of the Board of Worship at MLC. She will serve as VP and Secretary of MLC church council beginning this spring.
JOSEPH M. SUSTERSIC
Joe is an Internal Audit and Regulatory Compliance professional with 40 years of financial services industry experience. He has six years experience as a Chief Audit Executive at two SEC reporting companies and Audit Committee reporting responsibilities at four different companies. In his career in Internal Audit, he managed audit teams of up to 25 professionals. Joe also has 6 years of experience as a third party auditor and consultant performing internal audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and loan reviews.
